Phoebe Snow
Phoebe Snow (July 17, 1950[1] - April 26, 2011) was an American singer. One of her most popular songs was "Poetry Man", from her album Phoebe Snow.[1] She also sang the theme song for the television series A Different World.

In December 1975, Snow gave birth to a daughter, Valerie, who had hydrocephalus (too much liquid around the brain). Snow cared for her until Valerie died in 2007.[2]
Snow suffered a brain hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain) in January 2010, from which she never recovered.[2] Complications from the hemorrhage caused her death.
