Polk City is in Polk County, Iowa, United States. The population was 3,418 in the 2010 census, an increase from 2,344 in 2000 census. It is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Polk City is located along Saylorville Lake and near Big Creek State Park.
