Subtropical Storm Alberto
Subtropical Storm Alberto was the first tropical cyclone of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. The storm was the first tropical or subtropical cyclone to enter the Gulf of Mexico since 1976. It was also the strongest in terms of barometric pressure in May since Hurricane Able in the 1951 Atlantic hurricane season.
The storm struck Georgia and Alabama as a subtropical storm.[1] Winds were 45 miles per hour (72 kilometres per hour) when it struck the United States.
Alberto's highest winds were around 65 miles per hour (105 kilometres per hour).
Nine people were killed by the storm in Cuba and the United States.
