The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure movie directed by Jon Favreau, written by Justin Marks and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is based on Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and inspired by Walt Disney's 1967 animated movie of the same name.[1]

It stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli with the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken with Garry Shandling.

Favreau, Marks and producer Brigham Taylor developed the movie's story with a mixture between Disney's animated version and Kipling's original books. Filming began in 2014, with filming taking place in Los Angeles.[2]

The Jungle Book was released to very positive reviews in North America on April 15, 2016. It has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
