Thomas J. Donohue

Thomas Joseph Donohue Sr. (August 12, 1938 – October 14, 2024) was an American business executive and lobbyist. He was the President and CEO of the United States Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 2021.[1][2] Before, he was the President and CEO of the American Trucking Association from 1984 until 1997.

Donohue was born in New York City. He was raised in Rockville Centre, New York. He studied at St. John's University and at Adelphi University.

In 2018, he was honored with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.[3]

Donohue died on October 14, 2024, at his home in Arlington, Virginia from congestive heart failure at the age of 86.[4][5][6]
