Sir William Arthur Lewis (January 23, 1915 – June 15, 1991) was a Saint Lucian economist. He was the James Madison Professor of Political Economy at Princeton University.^[2] Lewis was known for his works about economic development. In 1979, he won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
