Disney Tsum Tsum (TV series)

Disney Tsum Tsum is a live-action animated jukebox musical slapstick comedy television series created by Kelli Berglund and Jake Short and produced by Disney Television Animation. The series is set to be released on July 1, 2025, on Disney Channel, and is scheduled for release on Disney+ the next day (July 2, 2025). In January 2025, it was reported that the film's regular voice cast of JoJo Siwa, Kimiko Glenn, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, Jenny Slate, Dee Bradley Baker (in a dual role), Grey DeLisle (in a dual role), H. Michael Croner, Steve Carell, Richard Kind, Brad Garrett, Chris Sanders, and Frank Welker would reprise their roles, with Ron Funches, Seth Rogen, Ashley Tisdale, Yonas Kibreab, Kylie Kuioka, Shawn Mendes, Rihanna and introducing Anya Taylor-Joy announced that she would play Marie the kitty cat and joining the cast.

Premise

As the toy store into the under the humans, the cute little characters from Disney's Tsum Tsum step foot into the Tsum City, where they can have a blast party with original series. The Tsums lives their adventures when no one has gone before. The Tsums gets always stick and split together to across the New York City to be a chaos just like in the party.

Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse start the first "Tsum Tsum" show, which they plan to end with a big spectacle. However, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck have a heated argument on whether the spectacle should be a fireworks show or a pizza party, respectively. After voting ends in a tie and Donald and Mickey attempted to sabotage each other, Donald ends up winning by convincing Minnie to vote for him. Mickey, however, ultimately finds a compromise by using Buzz Lightyear's fireworks launcher to shoot fireworks made of pizza.

2 "Bad Luck Tsums" May 10, 2025 (2025-05-10)102

At the start of the show, Angel breaks theatrical superstitions by wishing Lilo and Stitch good luck and saying Macbeth. The Tsum Theater begins to experience bad luck, which only worsens after Pleakley finds a 13-leaf clover. After asking Alice for advice, Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Minnie summon the dinosaur of the Tsum Theater: Rex. After Rex denies causing the bad luck, Mickey discovers that Scrooge McDuck was causing the bad luck as she was not asked to host the show. The Tsum then end the show with a human pyramid, which topples after Mickey gloats.

3 "The Roast of Scrooge McDuck" May 17, 2025 (2025-05-17)103

Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh host a roast of Scrooge McDuck for causing bad luck before. Donald Duck and Dory take part in the roast with the latter struggling until she is briefly possessed by Randall. WALL-E takes part after consuming a Baymax Barksian Modulator allowing him to talk for the first time. At the end of the roast, Donald gives a ticket to Scrooge McDuck to leave this store. Mickey reveals that Scrooge McDuck to stay in the store.

Development

In 2019, creators Kelli Burglund and Jake Short first met each-other when they were animators for Disney Television Animation, as the duo claimed that they 'spoke the same comedy language'. Conception for the series began in December 2019, and was eventually optioned by Disney five months later. On June 17, 2023, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, it was announced that Lucy Heavens and Nic Smal were developing the series, originally entitled Tsums (later entitled Disney Tsum Tsum). According to the duo, the series is inspired by their experiences growing up in New York City, while Short described it as a series "about a plush mouse who lives with his friends in the store and goes to one adventure at a time" whose comedy focuses on the world and characters featured. Senior vice-president for Disney Channel's animation Meredith Roberts said, "Kelli and Jake are a brilliant creative team who produced a fresh and funny series with vibrant visuals that help bring the friendship between a plushies to life in a unique way". The series is produced by Disney Television Animation, LINE Corporation, Konami, and NHN PlayArt, with Nicolas Pierson serving as producer, It consists of 22-minute episodes, composed of two 11-minute segments. Edward Mejia, a Disney executive, oversees the series.

The series features one jukebox musical number per episode.

Animation

In addition to co-producing, Titmouse, Inc. also provides the animation for the series (with its overseas animation being provided by Yearim).

Release

Disney Tsum Tsum is set to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney XD on July 1, 2025, with the show's first six episodes releasing on Disney+ the next day (July 2, 2025). In June 2024, it was announced that the first season of the series would have 30 22-minute episodes.
