The Hyundai Getz was a small Hatchback made by Hyundai from 2002 to 2011.

History and Features

The Hyundai Getz was shown first as a concept called Hyundai TB at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2001. It was later shown as a production model at the Geneva Motor Show in 2002.^[7] It was designed at Frankfurt. Its name reportedly means achieved by desirability and is a link-up of GET and GET IT. ^[8]

The Getz had a 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 liter petrol engines and 1.5 diesel engines with 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission. It got facelifted in 2005.^[9] ^[10]

Markets

The Hyundai Getz was sold worldwide, mainly in Europe and other places. In South Korea, it was sold as the Hyundai Click, in Japan as the Hyundai TB, in Venezuela under the Dodge brand as the Dodge Brisa, and in Malaysia as the Inokom Getz.

From 2008 to 2014, Blade Electric Vehicles, an Australian company, sold a converted electric version called Blade Electron in Australia and New Zealand.^[11]

Discontinuation

The production of The Hyundai Getz ended in 2008 and in Europe was replaced by the Hyundai i20. It was produced in other markets until 2011.
