Jennifer Granholm (born February 5, 1959) is a Canadian born American politician. She was the governor of the state of Michigan from 2003 to 2011. Granholm was born in Canada and raised in California. She ran for governor of Michigan in 2002, even though she had lived in the state for less than 15 years.
