Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Caradoc Hoult (Wokingham; born 7 December 1989) is an English actor. Hoult is a versatile actor who has been acting since he was three years old.[2] His extensive filmography includes leading roles in major productions, work in conventional productions and leading roles in independent projects, in the American and British film industries. His successful start in the seventh art came when he played Marcus in About a Boy (2002) at the age of eleven—previously, he had recorded several episodes in British television series and had appeared in the film Intimate Relations (1996). — Since then, his legacy has continued to spread, appearing in series and acclaimed films. At the age of 17, he played the character Tony Stonem in the British series Skins (2007-2008), a role that helped him make the transition from child actor to darker roles in the film industry, achieving success and recognition.[3] And not It would not be until a decade later that he would return to a series to play Emperor Peter III of Russia in The Great (2020-2023), which earned him nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. His jump to Hollywood began with the drama A Single Man (2019), for which he earned a BAFTA nomination. Among his outstanding film repertoire are the action film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Young Ones (2014); the fantasy films Clash of the Titans (2010) and Jack the Giant Slayer (2013); the superhero films X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019); the biographical films Rebel in the Rye (2017) and Tolkien (2019); the romantic comedies Warm Bodies (2013) and Equals (2015); the black comedies Kill your friends (2015), The Favourite (2018), The Menu (2022) and Renfield (2023); the drama films Dark Places (2015), Sand Castle (2017), The Current War (2019), and True History of the Kelly Gang (2019); and the gothic horror film Nosferatu (2024).

Hoult is also a vocal actor, providing his voice to narrations, audiobooks[4] and various animated characters; such as the animated character Ace in the film Metegol (2013), ​the rabbit Fiver in the acclaimed British miniseries Watership Down (2018), ​the character of Patrick in the adult stop-motion film Crossing Swords (2020-2021) ​or to the character of Jon Arbuckle in the animated film The Garfield Movie (2024).

At the Trafalgar Studios theater in London he starred in the play New Boy in 2009.[5] He appeared on the annual Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2012.[6] He also appeared in a music video by The Rolling Stones.[7] He is a member of the Academy of Arts and American Film Sciences​ [8] and has his own film production company known as Dead Duck Films.[9]
