Saxony-Anhalt (German: Sachsen-Anhalt, (German pronunciation: [ˌzaksn̩ ˈʔanhalt] ( listen); Low German: Sassen-Anholt) is a Bundesland (state) in Germany. It has an area of 20,445.26 km2 (7,894.0 sq mi). 2,580,626 people live there. The capital is Magdeburg.
