Sears
Sears, Roebuck and Company, usually called Sears, is a department store chain with about 13 stores in the United States, 12 in the mainland United States and 1 in Puerto Rico.[1] The first store opened in 1906. It was the biggest retailer in the country until Walmart had more sales in October 1989.[4]

Sears had to close all 140 of its stores in Canada in 2017.[5] Its 75 stores in Mexico have been operated by Grupo Carso since 1997.[6]
Sears filed for bankruptcy on October 15, 2018.[7]
On June 3, 2019, the Sears assets were purchased by Transform Holdco.[8]
