Sembaruthi (transl. Hibiscus) is an Indian Tamil-language romance and family drama television series on Zee Tamil. It stars Karthik Raj, Shabana Shajahan, and Priya Raman in the lead roles. VJ Agni later replaced Karthik Raj as the male lead.[1] VJ Kathir, Sanjay Kumar Asrani, Lakshmi, Dheepthi Kapil and VJ Mounika act in supporting roles.[2]

This series started airing on 16 October 2017. The story is about a maid named Parvathi who secretly marries Aadhitya, a rich man, against the wishes of his mother, Akhilandeshwari.

Synopsis

The story is about a rich, strong-willed, and stubborn woman, Akhilandeshwari, and her eldest son Aadhitya's intense love story with Parvathi, a servant working as a cook, and how issues spiral out of control to affect their relationship. Aadhitya's brother Arun and his wife Aishwarya support the couple. The plot follows their marriage and how the pair face various turmoils in the form of Akhilandeshwari's evil sister, Vanaja, and her cronies.

Lingustic Versions

The show is remade into Malayalam under the title Chembarathi (TV series) which is being aired on Zee Keralam and also as Paaru on Zee Kannada. [7][8]
