Stanley Tigerman

Stanley Tigerman (September 20, 1930 – June 3, 2019) was an American architect, theorist and designer. He was an important architect in Chicago, Illinois.^[1]

Tigerman's best known designs include the Five Polytechnic Institutes in Bangladesh, the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie, Illinois, the Illinois Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped in Springfield, Illinois and POWERHOUSE Energy Museum in Zion, Illinois.

Tigerman taught at many universities across the United States. He was the director of the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Tigerman was born in Chicago to a Jewish family. He was married three times. He had two children. He died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on June 3, 2019 in Chicago. He was 88.^[1]
