Nicolae Ceauşescu
Nicolae Ceauşescu (pronounced [ni.koˈla.e tʃa.uˈʃes.ku]; 26 January 1918 – 25 December 1989) was the President of Romania from 1965 until 1989. After the Romanian Revolution of 1989 he was deposed, tried and publicly executed. He had been the only Communist dictator of Eastern Europe who had been charged for crimes against humanity and genocide during the revolutions of 1989.
