2015 Illapel earthquake

On 16 September 2015, an 8.3 Mw earthquake happened 46 km (29 mi) offshore Illapel, Chile. 12 deaths and 34+ injuries were reported. The cities of Coquimbo and Concón reported flooding from a tsunami. Six aftershocks were also reported.

1 fatality and minor injuries in Argentina[2]

Tsunami warnings were given to Ecuador, Peru, New Zealand, Fiji, Japan, the Solomon Islands, French Polynesia, and the U.S. states of Hawaii and California. The earthquake was felt in Argentina and Brazil.[3]
