Cory Booker
Cory Anthony Booker (born April 27, 1969) is an American politician and the senior United States Senator from New Jersey. He is a member of the U.S. Democratic Party. He has been in office since 2013. Before being senator, he served as mayor of Newark from 2006 to 2013.

His first mayoral campaign in Newark, New Jersey, against incumbent Mayor Sharpe James in 2002, was documented in the 2005 feature movie Street Fight.
From February 2019 to January 2020, Booker unsuccessfully ran for the 2020 Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
2020 presidential campaign
Many news articles believe that Booker would be a popular Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential election against Donald Trump.
On February 1, 2019, Booker launched his presidential campaign for the Democratic nomination.[1] He ended his campaign on January 13, 2020.[2]
Personal life
His brother is Cary Booker II, named after their father Cary Booker.[3] In 1969, his parents fought hard against racism by insisting to buy a house in an area where black people were not welcome.[4]
He dated actress Rosario Dawson from 2019 until 2022.[5][6][7]
In 2020, he learned that he and entertainer RuPaul are cousins; they discovered it by appearing on the TV show Finding Your Roots.[8]
