Dorothy Kilgallen
Dorothy Mae Kilgallen (July 3, 1913 – November 8, 1965)[1] was an American journalist and television game show panelist and the daughter of one of the Hearst Syndicate’s star reporters, James Lawrence Kilgallen. She started as a reporter for Hearst Corporation's New York Evening Journal. In 1938, she began her newspaper column. It was later syndicated for more than 146 papers. Kilgallen was also a regular panelist on the television game show What's My Line in 1950.

Kilgallen's columns had mostly gossip and news about show business. There was also news about organized crime and politics. Kilgallen also wrote several newspaper articles on the Kennedy assassination and the trial of Jack Ruby for shooting Lee Harvey Oswald.
Kilgallen was born in Chicago, Illinois. She died at age fifty-two in Manhattan, New York from a mix of alcohol and barbiturates.

In 1960, Kilgallen was one of the initial 500 people chosen to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
