Kim Jong-un [4] (born 8 January 1983)[5] is the current leader of North Korea. In December 2011, he became the leader of North Korea after his father, Kim Jong-il died on 17 December 2011. His grandfather, Kim Il-Sung was the first leader of North Korea.

Little is known about his personality and habits, apart from the fact that he likes basketball. He is married to Ri Sol-ju. They married in 2009. They had a daughter in 2010. Kim received his education in the West. He attended a state school in Switzerland from 1998 to 2000 posing as a diplomat's son named Pak Un. Kim is reported to have later attended the Kim Il Sung Military University in Pyongyang. When his mother died of cancer in 2004, Kim went on a drinking and eating binge. His weight soared to almost 200 pounds.[6] He is the world's youngest head of state.
