List of current Canadian first ministers

Canada is a parliamentary democracy that includes ten provinces and three territories. Each province and territory has a head of government. Those people are called premiers to avoid confusion with the federal prime minister.[1]

The longest-serving current first minister is Scott Moe of Saskatchewan, since February 2, 2018, and the newest first minister is Mike Pemberton of Yukon, since June 27, 2025. The oldest first minister is François Legault of Quebec, who is 68, and the youngest first minister is P.J. Akeeagok of Nunavut, who is 40. Two of the thirteen first ministers (Danielle Smith of Alberta and Susan Holt of New Brunswick) are women and three (P.J. Akeeagok of Nunavut, Wab Kinew of Manitoba, and R.J. Simpson of the Northwest Territories) are Indigenous.
