Lynn, Massachusetts
Lynn is a city in Massachusetts[8] and the largest city in Essex County. It is near the Atlantic Ocean, 3.7 miles (6.0 km) north of the Boston city line at Suffolk Downs. There is an MBTA commuter rail station in Lynn.

When the first official minister, Samuel Whiting, arrived from King's Lynn, England, the new settlers were so excited that they changed the name of their community to Lynn in 1637 in honor of him.
