The association football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics were held from 3 to 20 August in Brazil.[1]

The tournament were feature both the men's and women's teams. The men's teams can only have players who were born on or after 1 January 1993, and the women's teams have no age limit.[2]

The tournament were played in six cities: Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Salvador, São Paulo, and Manaus.
