Anglic languages are West Germanic languages that come from Old English. They were first spoken on the British Isles. Creole languages based on forms of English are generally not included. Except for English, this group also includes Scots in Scotland, and Yola and Fingallan in Ireland. These languages developed from earlier dialects spoken by Anglo-Saxon settlers.
