Grammy Award for Best New Artist

The Grammy Award for Best New Artist has been awarded since the 2nd Annual Grammy Awards in 1960. 1967 is only year since the award's introduction in 1960 in which the award was not presented. This award is given out to artists whose albums made them popular in the public's eye.

*Milli Vanilli initially received the award for Best New Artist. Later that year, the duo's producer Frank Farian confirmed that both members, Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus, had not lent their own vocals to their first record, Girl You Know It's True. They had lip-synched their way through all live performances. The award was subsequently revoked by the Recording Academy.
