Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russian: Свердловская областьcode: ru is deprecated , Sverdlovskaya oblast) is a federal subject (an oblast) of Russia. Its administrative center is the city of Yekaterinburg, formerly known as Sverdlovsk. In 2010, 4,297,747 people lived in the oblast.^[1]
