Participating nations
A total of 69 nations sent athletes to compete at the Helsinki games.[3]
1952 Summer Olympics Media
In 1952, the word Olympiad was still relatively foreign to Finland, as evidenced by its full assimilation to the word olympia in the logo and stamps of the Games. The poster for the Games, on the other hand, erroneously features the XVth Olympic Games, the "XV Olympic Games," even though they were the XV "Olympics", but only the 12th (XII) Summer Olympics.
